Letters to The Beer Cellar
I collect beer bottles. Full ones. Not
your Michelobs or Bud Lights. But the Arcadia
Brewing Companies and the Smuttymouths and the Fat Tires
of America; stuff you're not going to find at Kroger.
And from time to time I'll drink the product that is
found inside of the bottle. But for me the taste
is not the important thing. I love the history
of each brewery...how most began with one or two guys
saying something to the effect of "Hey, try this.
This ain't bad." I love the artwork of the
logo. Nearly each and every bottle I own
(currently about 250) has a hand-designed image
that represents the era, the region, or the history.
I love the brewpub, even though I admit that a nut brown
at Pub A in Nashville tastes the same to me as a nut
brown at Pub B in Dallas. The brewpub represents
1750 here in 2003. It represents atmosphere above
the standard norm at the standard norm price.
It represents Norm Peterson, because let's face it...most
of us wanted to be Norm Peterson at one time or another,
even though he was the anti roll model.
Now to the point. I have done quite a bit of
on-line research and have to say that I am most impressed
with your site. Your writings reflect all the
things I said in paragraph one. Your thoroughness is
commendable, your thoughts are insightful, and most
importantly, you don't talk above the heads of all the
Joe Six Packs like myself (I don't pay attention
to platos or gravity or crap like that. And I
don't care that a certain pilsner may compliment roast
lamb.) Bottom line...you speak to me and I highly encourage
you to continue what you do. Thank you.

PS. I'm really looking forward to your "beer
stores" and "beer" pages. I can
always use a credible source for my research.
