Relax
Have A Homebrew!
Matt Simpson
Managing Editor
President, Ale Atlanta
We at The Beer Cellar tend to concentrate our journalistic
efforts on professional brewing establishments here
in the South; their distribution, brewing processes,
products and the laws affecting them and us. But don't
mistake our vigilance in the world of professional brewing
for indifference for the magnificent world of home brewing.
Most of the beer people contributing to the makeup
of aficionados in Atlanta, have at least dabbled in
homebrewing, myself included. During each Ale Atlanta
meeting we conduct a flight tasting. And as a point
of fact, some of the most coveted contributions we receive
are home brews. The subtle differences among like styles
are fascinating. And often, similarities between said
contributions and professionally crafted brews are equally
astounding, whether deliberate or unintentional.
So believe me when I say that we at TheBeerCellar.com
have a true passion for homebrewing and salute those
who exercise their right and pleasure to do so. If you
already brew at home, great. Hopefully we'll see you
at an Ale Atlanta meeting one of these times! If not,
give it a try
there's nothing quite so rewarding,
empowering or satisfying as sitting down to a brew you
know was crafted perfectly, because you crafted it.
Be sure to frequent your local homebrew store. If you're
in Georgia, you can look them up right here on our site,
at homebrewstores.shtml.
Another great resource for Southern home brewers, either
experienced or just starting out, is the Covert Hops
Society. You can check them out at http://www.coverthops.com.
And as the undisputed king of homebrewing Charlie Papazian
would say, "relax
have a homebrew!"
