Moon River is Savannah's only brewpub and is located
one block from River Street in an older building with
large windows that overlook the street. With brick walls
and old wooden floors, it sports an open floor plan
with a U shaped bar right in front as you walk in. The
IPA and the Stout are the highlights of the "year-round"
beers. They have six "all-year" beers, which
rotate in availability, along with a number of seasonal
selections.
Prices on the menu run from $3 to $20. The food is good,
with everything from soup, sandwiches and wraps to steaks
and stuffed chicken.
The clientele is pretty varied with a number of locals,
but also tourists coming in off of River Street for
a pint.

This is an English style Pub with an English phone
booth out front. Inside it has a low tin ceiling, plaid
wallpaper, and a resin-topped bar with UK coins encased
inside. There is also a little patio out front that
is pretty pleasant in the spring, fall and mild summer
days. Traditional English fare is served.
This place has a more traditional pub type of feel to
it. It's a very nice place to go and have a conversation
and a pint in the afternoon. There are always some interesting
locals to strike up a conversation with.
Mellow Mushroom
Address: 11 West Liberty Street, Savannah
Phone: (912) 495-0705
Website: www.mellowmushroom.com
Hours: Monday-Saturday 11:00AM-12:00PM
Sunday 11:00AM-?
Taps: 20 Mostly macros
Bottles: 40 Again, mostly US and Foreign macros with
a few micros sprinkled in.
Like other Mellow Mushrooms, lots of Grateful Dead
inspired murals on the walls. This location has the
front half of a VW microbus inside the front door. The
larger tables are in the front with smaller ones in
the back by the bar. The clientele seems to be mostly
college-age people and families. Good food and some
decent beers are available. It's a good lunch spot.
O'Connell's Irish Pub

Saturday 6:00PM-3:00AM
Closed Sunday
Taps: 15 with one or two from Moon River Brewing
Bottles: varies; up to 33
This is strictly a drinking bar and no food is served.
It is located in a long, narrow building in the middle
of a block, with front and back doors opening out onto
the streets. It has an open floor, with the bar running
2/3 of the length of the building. The area surrounding
it is up a step. They have live music most nights. It
does get quite crowded (and noisy) on weekend evenings.
This is a good place to catch a band and a pint, but
not a great place to have a conversation.
B & B Billiards
Address: 411 West Congress Street, Savannah
Phone: (912) 233-7116
Hours: Monday-Saturday 4:00PM-3:00AM
Sunday 1:00PM-2:00AM
Taps: 12 With Bert Grants and Rogue being the most
notable.
Bottles: 100 Probably the best selection in Savannah
This is actually two bars in one. The downstairs bar
has live bands (usually blues) and has a lesser beer
selection. The top floor has nine pool tables and a
small resin-topped plank bar. Both bars are located
inside an old brick building with a large brick courtyard
outside. The tables seem to stay pretty busy on the
weekends and it can get fairly noisy. It's still a good
choice for a game of billiards or just sit and have
a couple of pints.

This isn't a pub, but a package store, and definitely
worth a mention. Larger than the average store, it's
located in a strip mall. They carry a large number of
beers, with more of a selection of English and German
beers than American micros. There are probably about
two hundred or so different labels. This is probably
the place to pick up some brews to go. Most beers are
available as singles.
